MANILA, Philippines — A man was injured when a passenger vessel collided with a barge off the coast of Isla Verde in Batangas early yesterday.
Forty other passengers and 47 crewmembers of the passenger vessel were unhurt.
MV Fastcat M19 was on its way to Calapan port in Oriental Mindoro when it collided with the barge, Krizza Rica, which was headed to Semirara Island in Caluya, Antique.
The barge was being towed by motor tug Migi when the accident occurred, according to the Philippine Coast Guard.
A report on dzBB said the Maritime Industry Authority suspended the safety certificates of the three vessels involved in the collision while a probe is ongoing.
