MANILA, Philippines — The Caloocan City government and its attached departments are on heightened alert for the observance of Holy Week and summer break.

Mayor Dale Gonzalo Malapitan directed yesterday the local police, Bureau of Fire Protection, city disaster risk reduction and management office, public safety and traffic management department and other city frontliner offices to be ready to assist the public, especially in areas which are expected to experience a heavy influx of people.

The local chief executive gave emphasis on securing terminals, places of worship and major roads. Malapitan instructed officials of the city’s 188 barangays to ensure their areas are safe during the Holy Week to prevent untoward incidents.
