Bulacan village watchman held for selling guns

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines — A village watchman was arrested for illegal sale of guns in Baliwag, Bulacan on Wednesday night.

Identified only as Vic, the suspect was apprehended after selling a caliber .38 revolver to undercover agents.

Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo, Central Luzon police director, said bullets, an improvised shotgun, an improvised caliber .22 pistol, a magazine, a holster, marked money and a motorcycle were among the items recovered from the suspect.

Hidalgo said the arrest of the village watchman is in line with the commitment of the police to account for as well as seize all loose firearms and ensure the safety of communities.
