Taguig offers health services to diabetics, hypertensives

The city health office offered blood sugar and cholesterol screening, ECG, non-communicable disease risk assessment, chronic kidney disease screening and chest X-ray as well as cervical, breast and tuberculosis screening.

MANILA, Philippines — The Taguig City government provided free healthcare services to over 330 diabetic and hypertensive patients on Wednesday in observance of World Diabetes Day.

The city health office offered blood sugar and cholesterol screening, ECG, non-communicable disease risk assessment, chronic kidney disease screening and chest X-ray as well as cervical, breast and tuberculosis screening.

Free flu vaccination shots were also available during the activity.

Mayor Lani Cayetano, who attended the event, emphasized the importance of raising awareness about the diseases.

The city government also held lectures on nephropathy, chronic kidney disease and diabetic foot care.

All participants were given gift bags containing essential items such as fruits, vegetables and vitamins.
