MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude-4.5 earthquake jolted Eastern Samar on Sunday night, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology.
Phivolcs said the quake’s epicenter was located 93 kilometers east of Dolores town.
The temblor, which was tectonic in origin, was felt at Intensity 2 in the towns of Can-avid, Dolores, Oras, Sulat and Taft.
Intensity 1 was felt in Borongan.
The quake was not expected to cause damage, but state seismologists warned residents of aftershocks.
