3 Koreans, 2 Pinoys dead in Bulacan road mishap

CAMP ALEJO SANTOS, Philippines — Five people, including two Koreans, died while two others were injured when a sport utility vehicle (SUV) collided with a trailer truck in Baliwag City in Bulacan yesterday.

Reports reaching Col. Relly Arnedo, Bulacan police director, identified the fatalities as Miseon Kim, Park Misoon, Jinoh Kim, Rosalinda Capinlac and Allen Bulandos, the driver of the SUV.

Geraldine Capinlac and Theresa Adio were taken to the Baliwag District Hospital and then transferred to the Bulacan Medical Center for treatment.

The victims reportedly came from Nueva Ecija and were on their way to the airport after spending their vacation in the country when the accident occurred.

Initial investigation showed the Toyota Fortuner driven by Bulandos veered into the opposite lane and hit the truck driven by PJ Calma at around 2 a.m.

Calma was arrested and is under the custody of the Baliwag police. – Emmanuel Tupas
