Student shoots classmate in La Union

MANILA, Philippines — A Grade 11 student accidentally shot and wounded his classmate in Bacnotan, La Union on Monday.

The 16-year-old boy is being investigated following the incident that occurred in Barangay Baroro, police said.

Probers said the suspect brought his father’s .45-caliber pistol to show it to his classmate.

The firearm went off as the boy was taking the gun out of his bag. The bullet hit his classmate in the leg.

The victim was rushed to the Bacnotan District Hospital for treatment.
