MMDA enforcer axed for harassing motorist

MANILA, Philippines — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has fired a traffic enforcer seen on a viral video harassing and blocking a motorist.

The enforcer, who was in a pickup truck, was seen in the video posted on Saturday engaging the motorist in a heated argument and telling the motorist to improve driving skills.

The enforcer – who was not identified – then got out of the vehicle and berated the motorist about lane merging.

In a memorandum signed by acting MMDA Chairman Romando Artes, the enforcer was fired on Monday from his post under the Traffic Discipline Office (TDO).

The enforcer was also instructed to surrender his identification card and mission order to TDO director for enforcement Victor Nuñez.
