Man nabbed for sextort try on girl, 12

MANILA, Philippines —  A 23-year-old man who allegedly threatened to expose the sensitive photographs of a 12-year-old girl if she would not have sex with him was arrested in Caloocan City on Monday.

A composite team from the police Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG) apprehended Jonel Melo Garica along Camaro street at around 3:45 p.m.

ACG spokesperson Capt. Michelle Sabino said Garcia forced the victim to send him explicit photographs through Facebook Messenger.

The suspect then allegedly told the girl that he would send her pictures to her relatives and friends if she would not have sex with him.

The victim sought police assistance for an entrapment operation.

The suspect is being held on charges of grave coercion, child abuse and online sexual abuse or exploitation of children.
