Baguio City, Philippines — More than 300 kilos of shabu stashed in 500 pieces of tea bags with Chinese characters were seized at a rented warehouse in Purok 4, Barangay Irisan in this city yesterday.

Chinese national Hui Ming, alias Tan, was apprehended by personnel of the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit of the Cordillera police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

The raid was based on a search warrant issued by a local court, Cordillera police director Brig. Gen. David Peredo said.

Authorities said the confiscated shabu had an estimated street value of P4 billion, which they said may be the biggest drug haul in Northern Luzon.

Charges are being readied against Hui for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
