ILOILO CITY, Philippines — Two bedridden and elderly persons died in fires that hit residential areas in Iloilo province on Wednesday.
Police identified the fatalities as Thomas White, 72, a resident of Barangay Botong in Oton town, and Lea Fernandez, 71, of Barangay Sta. Rosa in Mandurriao district in this city.
The victims were reportedly both alone in their houses when the fires struck.
