MANILA, Philippines — A woman was arrested after she received a parcel that contained 11.75 kilos of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu valued at P79.94 million during an interdiction operation at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) complex in Pasay City on Friday.
Anie Rose Servano, 33, was apprehended by anti-narcotics officers at the Pair Cargo Warehouse at around 6 p.m.
Servano also surrendered a cell phone and two identification cards.
A report from the police Drug Enforcement Group said the illegal drugs originated from Lahore, Punjab in Pakistan and shipped by Aimex General Trading.
The package, which was declared as cloth towels, arrived at NAIA on March 7.
Officers from the Bureau of Customs noticed the parcel contained illegal drugs during an x-ray screening.
A subsequent examination by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency showed the package contained shabu.
