ILOILO CITY, Philippines — A man allegedlly hacked to death his fellow worker in Mandurriao district in this city yesterday.
The suspect, Raffy Claudio, a resident of Barangay Damires in Janiuay, Iloilo, did not escape. He was arrested in the workers’ quarters in Barangay Bakhaw, where the dismembered body of the victim, Ricky Pisaro, was found.
The bolo used by the suspect was recovered at the scene.
Maj. Rey Sumagaysay, Iloilo City Police Station 5 chief, said the suspect apparently attacked Pisaro while the victim was sleeping.
Neighbors claimed to have heard someone shout, followed by a loud thud at around 6:35 a.m.
Claudio’s mother claimed the suspect may be suffering from a mental illness. She said her son had been depressed and acting strangely since his father was killed in a gun attack in 2015.
