MANILA, Philippines — A graduate of the University of the Philippines in Los Baños topped the civil engineering board examination, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced yesterday.
With a grade of 95 percent, Carl Jervin Magtira led 20,407 civil engineering graduates who took the licensure examination this month.
At least 8,029 of the 20,407 examinees passed the licensure examination held in various parts of the country.
UP graduates Andrew Aren Ong and Joseph Lawrence Celeste placed second and third, with a score of 94 percent and 93.95 percent, respectively.
Charles Jade Besabella of the Father Saturnino Urios University got a score of 93.65 percent while Vencint Cagampang of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines ranked fifth with a score of 93.35 percent.
With both obtaining a grade of 93.30 percent, UP graduate Levi Azriel Deganos and Philip Lorenz Nacua of the University of Cebu shared the sixth place.
UP graduate Sophia Mariya Kysha Camacho and Julian Rikki Reyes of the Don Honorio Ventura Technological State University were tied at seventh place with a grade of 93.25 percent. De la Salle University graduate Darius Joseph Diamante ranked eighth with a grade of 93.2 percent followed by Mapua University graduate Franz Martin Leachon.
John Kirt Baguio, Carl Justin Berces, Jefferson Cafino and Juan Miguel Estanislao of the FEU Institute of Technology, Bicol University, Carlos Hilado Memorial State College and UP, respectively, garnered a grade of 92.90 percent and landed in 10th place.
All successful examinees are required to register and sign the Roster of Registered Professionals.
