3 slain in Rizal gun attack
CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — Three persons were killed while three others were wounded in an attack believed sparked by a land dispute in Antipolo City on Sunday night.
Andrei Mosquete, Dennis Payla and Rodolfo dela Rosa died at the scene of the incident that occurred in Barangay Inarawan at past 9 p.m.
Rushed to the nearest hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds were Eduardo and Avelina, both surnamed Dumangas, and Gemina Amores.
Initial investigation showed the victims were in a convoy of three motorcycles and a sedan when they were attacked in Sitio Cabading, according to Col. Dominic Baccay, Rizal police director.
The victims came from the Cabading Hospital and were headed to Padilla town, police said.
The assailants, who were also on three motorcycles, cut the convoy and shot the victims several times before fleeing toward Baras town.
Police said the families of the victims are involved in a land dispute.
