Fake BFP personnel nabbed in Rizal

MANILA, Philippines — Two men who solicited money by claiming to be representatives of Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Central Luzon chief Roderick Aguto were arrested in Rodriguez, Rizal on Thursday, police reported yesterday.

Henry Halaghay and Joben Brian Gutierrez were apprehended by operatives of the Criminal Investigation in an entrapment in Barangay San Isidro, CIDG director Brig. Gen. Ronald Lee said.

The two were collared after withdrawing money sent by one of their victims to a remittance center.

The victim told police the suspects asked for P30,000 for a shootfest.

Records show that in 2018, Halaghay solicited money by claiming to be a staff of Sen. Bong Go.
