Fire hits popular restaurant in Quezon City

MANILA, Philippines — The iconic and popular Annabel’s Restaurant in Quezon City was damaged after it was hit by fire twice yesterday.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the fire broke out in the restaurant’s kitchen at around 4:32 a.m. The flames were immediately put out at past 5 a.m.
Arson probers said the initial fire was caused by a gas leak.
Another fire broke out at around 8:15 a.m. at the function room on the second floor of the two-story restaurant, the BFP said.
The fire reached the first alarm before it was put out by firefighters at around 9:57 a.m.
At least P4 million worth of property was destroyed. There were no casualties, according to the BFP.
Located along Tomas Morato Avenue in Barangay Sacred Heart, the restaurant hosted press conferences and other public events.
In a statement on its Facebook page, the restaurant’s management thanked its clients for their concern.
“We are looking forward to serving you again. We will rebuild to serve you better,” the post read.
