Woman drowns rescuing 2 minors

SARIAYA, Quezon, Philippines — A woman drowned as she was rescuing two minors on a beach in this town on Sunday.

Juvelyn Cabrera was declared dead on arrival at the Lucena United Doctors’ Hospital, where the minors were also brought for treatment.

Probers said the incident occurred during a family excursion at the Ilang-Ilang beach in Barangay Guis-guis.

The minors’ guardians were not aware that the victims went into the water by themselves.
