Robbery suspect slain in Pampanga

MABALACAT, Pampanga , Philippines — A suspected robber was killed in an alleged shootout with police in this city yesterday.

Lt. Col. Heryl Bruno, Mabalacat police chief, said pursuit operations for Ryan Dimarucut and his unidentified cohort were launched after police received reports that the two robbed a convenience store.

Bruno said Dimarucut was killed as the motorcycle-riding suspects fired at pursuing law enforcers when they were spotted in Barangay Sta. Maria. Dimarucut’s companion managed to escape.

Meanwhile, in Bacolod City,  businessman Jeffrey Keng, 40, was shot dead around 100 meters from a police station on Tuesday.

The victim was driving his Nissan Patrol vehicle when he was shot several times. – Gilbert Bayoran
