Man held for stealing fire truck in Cavite

MANILA, Philippines — A man was arrested for allegedly stealing a fire truck in Bacoor, Cavite on Friday.

Mark Daras was apprehended while driving the fire truck in Barangay San Nicolas III.

Initial investigation showed Daras went to the Bureau of Fire Protection sub-station at around 2:30 p.m.

Fire Officer 3 Danilo Espero Jr. told probers he was cleaning the fire truck and left the key in the ignition when he went upstairs.

When he went down, Espero said he saw Daras driving the fire truck out of the station.

Carjacking charges are being readied against Daras, who is being held at the police lockup.
