MANILA, Philippines — Monsoon rains will continue to drench Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon in the next three days, the state weather bureau announced yesterday.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said this is due to the effects of the habagat or southwest monsoon, which is primarily affecting Palawan and Mindoro.

PAGASA said rainfail during afternoon and evening is expected in Metro Manila, Bataan, Calabarzon, Ilocos Region and Zambales.

Visayas and Mindanao are forecast to have fair weather conditions with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms, PAGASA said.

No low-pressure area has been monitored inside and outside the Philippine area of responsibility.

PAGASA said no typhoon is expected to affect the country in the next three days.
