MANILA, Philippines — Camarines Norte second district Rep. Marisol Panotes died yesterday. She was 76.
Panotes’ passing was announced by her daughter Rosemarie in a post on Facebook. She did not give details.
“It is with deep sorrow to announce the passing of my mother Congw. Marisol ‘Toots’ Panotes – a loving mother, a loving wife, a loving grandma and a good public servant,” the post read.
Panotes was seeking reelection for a third term. She first held the post in 2016, a year after her predecessor and husband Elmer died.
She was vice chairperson of the House committees on disaster resilience as well as population and family relations.
