3 die in Rizal road mishap

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — Three persons died while five others were injured after their vehicle rolled over and crashed into a power post in Tanay, Rizal on Sunday.

Maximo Legaspi, Manuel Peralta and an alias Butor died at the scene of the accident that occurred in Barangay Daraitan.

Passengers Ligaya Barcante, Jocelyn Calinawan, Mario Legaspi, Jake Real and John Daniel Real were rushed to the Tanay General Hospital for treatment of injuries.

Police said the victims along with 12 other passengers were traveling in a jeep when they figured in the accident at around 8:45 a.m.

Driver Noe Butor said the jeep developed engine trouble, causing him to lose control of the wheel.
