Courts in areas under Alert Level 1 fully operational
MANILA, Philippines — Local courts in nine areas downgraded to Alert Level 1 are now fully operational, the Supreme Court (SC)-Office of the Court Administrator announced yesterday.
In a three-page circular, Court Administrator Raul Villanueva said these courts are in Nueva Ecija, Zambales, Batangas and Lucena City in Luzon; the cities of Iloilo, Cebu, Ormoc and Tacloban in the Visayas, and Butuan City in Mindanao.
Villanueva said judges who have no court space or facilities may maintain a skeleton workforce of up to 75 percent.
Night courts are allowed to operate in stations where these have been organized or required. Judges in these areas may also conduct jail visitations.
The Court of Appeals (CA) said its Visayas station in Cebu City would also resume full onsite capacity.
CA Presiding Justice Remedios Salazar-Fernando said court officials and employees shall undergo antigen testing once a month.
She said protocols for unvaccinated employees would continue to be observed.
