Women get free MRT, LRT-2 rides today

MANILA, Philippines — Female passengers can avail themselves of free rides today at the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) and Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) as part of the observance of International Women’s Day.

Women can board trains without paying fares at all stations of the MRT-3 and LRT-2 from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The LRT-2 management will also offer blood typing test, blood pressure checking and random blood sugar test at the Cubao and Recto stations in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross.

The rail lines are offering the free rides as a tribute to women for their contributions to society.
