LPA to bring rain in Visayas Mindanao

Michael Punongbayan - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Parts of the Visayas and Mindanao are forecast to experience light to heavy rain due to a low-pressure area that is expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility this weekend.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the weather system would move toward the country but will not develop into a typhoon.

PAGASA said the low-pressure area would bring rain in Metro Cebu and Metro Davao tomorrow.

Generally fair weather with partly cloudy to cloudy skies will prevail in parts of Luzon. Some areas, including Metro Manila and Bicol, will experience rain in the afternoon in the next three days.

The northeast monsoon or amihan, which brought cold temperature to Metro Manila and Northern Luzon in the past weeks, will continue to weaken.

PAGASA said easterlies or the warm air from the Pacific Ocean would bring warmer temperature ranging from 24 to 33 degrees Celsius in Metro Manila, 15 to 26 degrees in Baguio City and 24 to 36 degrees in Zamboanga until Monday. The temperature in Davao City will be from 24 to 33 degrees Celsius and 26 to 31 degrees in Iloilo.
