Duterte attends grandson’s wedding

DAVAO CITY, Philippines — President Duterte joined his family during the wedding of his grandson Rodrigo Duterte II at the Dusit Thani Hotel in this city on Saturday afternoon.

The event was the first major gathering of the Duterte family since the COVID pandemic broke out in 2020.

Duterte’s 24-year-old grandson Rigo married Yssa Labrador, with whom he has a two-year-old son named Rodrigo III or “Tres.”

Rigo is the son of Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte and his ex-wife Lovely Sangkola.

Aside from Rigo, Paolo also has another son, Omar, and daughter Isabelle with Sangkola.

Vice presidential aspirant and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio and her brother Vice Mayor Sebastian Duterte were also at the event as well as their mother Elizabeth Zimmerman.

Duterte reportedly excused himself after the ceremony as he needed to fly back to Manila.
