COVID-19 cases in San Juan down to 15

The figure is lower by 99.22 percent compared to 1,947 infections recorded on Jan. 12 when COVID cases in the city peaked due to the Omicron variant.

MANILA, Philippines — There are only 15 active COVID-19 cases in San Juan City, the local government reported yesterday.

The figure is lower by 99.22 percent compared to 1,947 infections recorded on Jan. 12 when COVID cases in the city peaked due to the Omicron variant.

The barangay that registered the most number of COVID-19 cases is Salapan with four followed by Greenhills with two.

Ten of San Juan’s 21 barangays – Addition Hills, Balong-Bato, Ermitano, Little Baguio, Maytunas, Progreso, Rivera, St. Joseph, Kabayanan and Tibagan – were declared COVID-free.

There are no new COVID-related deaths documented in the city.

Despite the improving COVID-19 situation in San Juan, Mayor Francis Zamora urged his constituents to continue following minimum public health standards.

“Magsuot ng face mask at isuot ito nang maayos, observe proper physical distancing,” Zamora said in a Facebook post.
