3 Chinese held for kidnapping

MANILA, Philippines — Three Chinese men accused of kidnapping their compatriots were arrested in Parañaque City yesterday.

Jiang Jialin, 22; Wang Lei, 27, and Wu Jin Ku, 24, were arrested during a raid on a building in Barangay Baclaran at around 9:20 a.m., Southern Police District (SPD) director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg said.

Macaraeg said five pairs of handcuffs were recovered from the suspects.

Police rescued three Chinese – Lu Genshe, Zhao Yinlong and Han Wei Ming – who were kidnapped on separate occasions in Parañaque and Pasay from Feb. 7 to 9.

The victims bore injuries that indicated the suspects also beat them.

The suspects face charges of kidnapping and serious illegal detention.
