Batangas village chief held for guns

MANILA, Philippines — A barangay captain in Sto. Tomas, Batangas was arrested on Monday for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

Gerry Punzalan, 49, of Barangay San Felix, was apprehended in a raid on his house at around 5:30 a.m.

Col. Glicerio Cansilao, Batangas police director, said Punzalan yielded a .45-caliber pistol, a .30-caliber Carbine, a shotgun and 276 rounds of ammunition.
