Maynilad sets 5-day supply cutoff

MANILA, Philippines —

In an advisory yesterday, Maynilad said Barangay Almanza Dos in Las Piñas, particularly in Alabang West and Versailles, will have no water from Jan. 24 to 28.

Barangay Poblacion – particularly Promiseland, National Housing Authority sites and the New Bilibid Prison – as well as Victoria Homes in Barangay Tunasan will have supply interruptions during the same period, Maynilad said.

The concessionaire said it was constrained to reduce the production of its treatment plants due to the increased turbidity of the raw water of Laguna Lake following the monsoon rains in December.

Maynilad earlier announced there would be daily water service interruptions until Feb. 15 in parts of Parañaque, Las Piñas, Muntinlupa and Pasay.
