Davao City extends liquor ban until June 30
DAVAO CITY, Philippines — The liquor ban in this city has been extended until June 30.
Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio issued an executive order on Wednesday extending the modified guidelines on the liquor ban starting Jan. 16. Curfew hours in the city will also remain lifted under the EO.
The EO cited the extension of the state of calamity in the country until Sept. 12 and the national pandemic task force resolution placing the city under Alert Level 3 until Jan. 31.
Selling of liquor is banned from 1 a.m. to 8 a.m. as well as its serving for consumption in bars, restaurants, convenience stores, wet markets and other business establishments.
Drinking liquor in public places, including but not limited to streets, alleys, pathways and outside of gates is also prohibited.
In an EO issued last year, Carpio lifted the 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. curfew, which was implemented in the city from November 2020 to Oct. 26 last year, until Jan. 15.
