Pasig unable to open more vax sites
MANILA, Philippines — The city government of Pasig is unable to open more vaccination sites for COVID-19 booster shots due to a lack of manpower as the number of infections breached 1,000 yesterday.
Mayor Vico Sotto shared on Facebook that there are three vaccination sites for fully vaccinated people 18 years old and above who want to get booster shots: Pasig Mega Parking II, Manggahan High School and Sagad High School.
Sotto, however, lamented they could not open more vaccination sites due to lack of manpower.
“Many of our health personnel are under quarantine. Thank you for your patience and understanding during these trying times,” he said.
As of yesterday, Pasig posted 1,081 active COVID-19 cases, which is higher by 64.03 percent compared with 659 infections last Thursday.
The number is higher by 1,156 percent when the city only had 86 active cases last Dec. 31 or a week ago.
The barangays that logged the most number of cases are Manggahan with 116; followed by Sta Lucia, 86; Ugong, 85; Pinagbuhatan, 83, and Rosario 82.
Of the 30 barangays in Pasig, only Kapitolyo has not recorded COVID-19 cases.
