Couple, infant die in Negros road mishap

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — A couple and their two-month-old baby died in a road accident in Sitio Ulay, Barangay Prosperidad in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental on Wednesday.

Police said a water tanker, which suffered a mechanical problem, hit the motorcycle of the victims.

Jomar Jirasol, 29, his wife Angeline and the baby died at the scene. The couple’s 10-year-old son was injured and taken to the San Carlos City Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the water tanker, Mykill Galgo, was arrested.

In Zambales, Steven Fariñas, 18, and Jomari Garcia, 19, died when their motorcycles collided in Sitio Loong, Barangay Luna on Saturday.

Fariñas’s backriders Jonel Barantes, 22, and a 12-year-old boy, were injured after they were thrown off the motorcycle due to the impact of the crash.
