Active COVID-19 cases in PNP rise to 39

MANILA, Philippines — The number of active COVID-19 cases in the police force has climbed to 39, the Philippine National Police (PNP) reported yesterday.

The PNP’s latest report showed that 12 more police personnel have contracted the virus.

A total of 42,274 PNP members have been infected with COVID-19 since last year.

The recovery rate has remained high at 99.66 percent as 42,110 of the patients have recovered.

A total of 125 PNP members have succumbed to the virus since last year.

In its vaccination drive, the PNP said 215,756 of its personnel have been fully vaccinated.

At least 8,806 have received their first dose of COVID-19 jabs while 1,548 remain unvaccinated, with 870 of them refusing to get inoculated, 678 of whom have valid reasons such as medical conditions.
