2 lotto bettors split P27.8 million prize

MANILA, Philippines — Two bettors won the Mega Lotto 6/45 jackpot amounting to P27.8 million, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) announced yesterday.

Royina Garma, PCSO general manager, said one of the bettors bought the winning ticket at a lotto outlet in Las Piñas. The other winner purchased the ticket in Guiguinto, Bulacan.

The winners picked the winning combination 18-29-03-25-15-39, which carried a total prize of P27,879,938.20.

Thirty-seven other bettors won a consolation prize of P32,000.

Lotto winnings are subject to a 20 percent tax under the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion Act or TRAIN Law.
