CALBAYOG CITY – A councilman and two village watchmen in Barangay Cagbañacao in this city were shot dead at the public plaza shortly before midnight yesterday.
Barangay kagawad Jonas Casaljay, chief village watchman Benedicto Dacara and watchman Miguel Galvan suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
Cpl. Jovan Rojas of the Calbayog police operations division quoted witnesses as saying that eight men took turns in shooting the victims at close range.
Probers are looking at politics and a grudge as the motive for the killing.
