MANILA, Philippines — Dialogues with pineapple farmers in Camarines Norte, factory workers in Camarines Sur and senior citizens in Irosin, Sorsogon have brought the Ang Probinsyano Party-list (APPL) group closer to Bicolanos.

The visits coincided with the distribution of livelihood assistance provided by the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced (TUPAD) workers, and the holding of an education assistance orientation by the Department of Social Welfare and Development from Nov. 17 to 19.

Headed by Rep. Alfred delos Santos, the first Bicol province that the APPL visited was Camarines Norte, where 200 beneficiaries would receive P4,650 in financial assistance within two weeks.

Tricycle drivers, vendors and farmers from at least 10 different barangays in the province attended the TUPAD orientation.

After the orientation, Delos Santos’ group visited the pineapple plantation in Basud town, the largest producer of pineapples in Camarines Norte.

In nearby Camarines Sur, at least 150 TUPAD beneficiaries attended the orientation in the towns of Bato, Bula and Nabua.
