Congressional bet aids Quezon City fire victims

MANILA, Philippines — Actor and congressional candidate Arjo Atayde has distributed constructions materials to families affected by a fire in Barangay Paraiso, Quezon City.

“I am not asking for anything in return,” Atayde said.

He was accompanied by some candidates running for the city council.

“I hope that we can move on from what happened. I’m sure that it was traumatic… wishing everyone the best to move forward from here,” Atayde said in a mix of Filipino and English.

Fourteen families lost their homes when a fire broke out in the area on Sunday night.

Atayde, who is running for representative of Quezon City’s 1st District, earlier vowed to help the families displaced by the fire.
