Bong Go aids fellow Davaoeños

MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Bong Go has continued to provide support to communities in distress amid the challenges the country is facing during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a video message in two separate distribution activities in Barangays Colosas and Tapak on Saturday, Go said the government is constantly procuring vaccines for all eligible Filipinos even as he urged the public to get vaccinated to boost their protection against the coronavirus.

“Mayroon lang ho kaming pakiusap ni Pangulong Duterte sa inyo, magtiwala ho kayo sa bakuna. Huwag ho kayong matakot sa bakuna, matakot ho kayo sa COVID-19. Ang bakuna po ang susi o solusyon para unti-unti na tayong makabalik sa ating normal na pamumuhay katulad po noon,” Go said.

He urged the beneficiaries and their loved ones with health concerns to take advantage of medical assistance through the Malasakit Center at the Southern Philippines Medical Center.

Go’s team organized relief efforts for 1,000 residents. Some beneficiaries brought home new pairs of shoes and bicycles as well as computer tablets to help their children  cope with the blended learning setup.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development gave financial assistance while the Department of Agriculture provided fresh vegetables.

The Department of Trade and Industry and Department of Labor and Employment determined qualified recipients for their respective livelihood programs.

The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority gave scholarship grants to selected individuals.
