Pasay congressman catches virus

MANILA, Philippines — Pasay City Rep. Antonino Calixto has tested positive for COVID-19.

In a statement issued yesterday through the city’s public information office, Calixto said he took the COVID test after experiencing dry cough on Monday.

Calixto said he has mild symptoms of the virus. He is on self-isolation at home.

His family and close contacts underwent swab tests and all tested negative for the virus.

They were advised to undergo quarantine for 14 days.

The congressman is the older brother of Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano.

Calixto encouraged his constituents to get vaccinated.
