LPA to dump rain over Northern Luzon

MANILA, Philippines — A low-pressure area (LPA) that entered the Philippine area of responsibility over the weekend will bring rain in areas in Northern Luzon.

In a bulletin issued at 4 p.m. yesterday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the weather disturbance was spotted 155 kilometers southeast of Tuguegarao, Cagayan.

The LPA has a slim chance of developing into a storm as it is likely to dissipate within 24 hours, according to PAGASA weather specialist Ana Clauren.

Cagayan Valley and the Cordilleras will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms.
