BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines — Brig. Gen. Steve Ludan has assumed the post as chief of the Cagayan Valley police.

Ludan, a native of Tanudan, Kalinga and member of the Philippine Military Academy’s “Tanglaw Diwa” class of 1992, replaced Brig. Gen. Crizaldo Nieves who reached his mandatory retirement age of 56 yesterday.

Lt. Gen. Israel Dickson, deputy chief for administration of the Philippine National Police, led the turnover ceremony at Camp Adduro in Tuguegarao, Cagayan.

Ludan, former chief of the PNP Crime Laboratory, vowed to intensify the campaign against illegal drugs in the region.
