MANILA, Philippines — The Pasig government will shut down some of its vaccination facilities due to the lack of supply of COVID-19 vaccines, Mayor Vico Sotto announced yesterday.

In a statement, Sotto said they only have 11,000 remaining doses of COVID-19 vaccine for first dose inoculations.

“Since we can administer over 6,000 jabs per day, we had to close some vaccination sites,” he said.

Sotto said some of the vaccines that had been donated to the Philippines through the COVAX Facility could not be used for essential workers or those under the A4 category.

The city government has administered 255,343 doses of COVID-19 vaccine and has fully vaccinated over 75,000 people.
