MANILA, Philippines — Four suspected car thieves were killed in an alleged shootout with police officers in San Fernando, Pampanga yesterday.
The clash between the unidentified suspects and Highway Patrol Group personnel occurred in Barangay Calulut at around 3 a.m.
An initial police report said the suspects, who were in a red Mitsubishi Mirage, fired at police officers manning a security checkpoint along the bypass road.
Four guns of unknown caliber and rounds of ammunition were reportedly recovered from the fatalities.
