Bong Go aids Isabela health workers, patients

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Bong Go visited the Gov. Faustino N. Dy Sr. Memorial Hospital in Ilagan City, Isabela on Tuesday to witness the work being done by medical workers while combating the spread of COVID-19.

Go toured the hospital, the largest in the province, and received a briefing from local health officials on their vaccination efforts.

“Sa mga frontliners, maraming salamat sa inyong sakripisyo ngayon. Tulungan po ninyo ang ating kapwa Pilipino. Huwag ninyo silang pabayaan dahil kayo ang nakakaalam sa laban na ito,” he said.

He vowed to stand up for medical workers, listen to their concerns and fight for policies that will reform the health care system. The senator cited when he successfully pushed the release of delayed benefits of medical workers who died after treating patients with COVID-19.

Go’s team provided meals, food packs, vitamins, masks and face shields to 500 medical workers and patients during his visit.

Selected beneficiaries received new pair of shoes and bicycles for their daily commuting needs. Others received computer tablets to help their children under the blended learning setup.

A team from the Department of Social Welfare and Development distributed separate cash assistance to cover other daily expenses, such as food and medicine.
