MANILA, Philippines — San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora has tested positive for COVID-19.

“A confirmatory test was done and the results turned out positive,” Zamora said in a statement yesterday.

He said he has not shown any symptoms of the virus.

Zamora is on quarantine at the Cardinal Santos Medical Center as a precautionary measure and to protect his family from getting infected, especially his wife who is a cancer survivor.

The mayor advised those who interacted with him to isolate and have themselves tested.

“The city health office can arrange for a free swab test for you,” he said.

Zamora has been making the rounds of the community during the pandemic to enforce health protocols and to spread awareness about the city’s vaccination program.
