Man nabbed at EDSA Shrine

MANILA, Philippines — A man claiming to be a member of Migrante International was apprehended by police yesterday for carrying a suspicious backpack during the commemoration of the EDSA people power revolution in Quezon City.

Boy Vargas was placed in handcuffs by policemen securing the People Power Monument along EDSA.

Vargas reportedly tried to escape when police were about to inspect his bag.

When police checked the bag, it only contained vegetables.

Asked why he ran away, Vargas said he got scared of the police.

He said he was supposed to join a rally by his group.
