UP freshmen applications end on February 15

MANILA, Philippines — The University of the Philippines (UP) will accept online applications for interested freshmen students for the incoming academic year until tomorrow.

Graduating senior high school students and others who are qualified to enter the university as freshmen students for the Academic Year 2021-2022 may submit their applications through https://upcollegeadmissions.up.edu.ph.

Unlike in previous years, applicants will not undergo the UP College Admission Test or UPCAT, which was cancelled due to the coronavirus disease pandemic.

Instead, applications will be assessed through the composite of final grades of the students in Grade 8, 9, 10 and first semester of Grade 11.

Specific degree programs may request for additional requirements to qualify for admission, if deemed necessary, UP said.

UP cancelled the UPCAT due to difficulties in administering it during the pandemic.
