TACLOBAN CITY , Philippines — A 39-year-old man allegedly burned his house in Northern Samar, leaving his two sons dead.
Fernando Ford Frigillana reportedly poured gasoline in the house before setting it on fire in Barangay Dalakit in Catarman town.
Initial investigation showed Frigillana’s sons, aged 11 and 16, were trapped in the burning house. His 13-year-old nephew managed to get out of the house, but suffered burn injuries.
The victims were sleeping when the incident occurred.
Capt. Russel Calubag, Catarman police chief, said charges of arson and parricide are being readied against Frigillana.
The suspect is reportedly suffering from depression after he lost his job due to the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic.
